Win a publishing contract! Could you be an erotic novelist? | iVillage UK

We are looking for the authentic voice of women’s erotic writing, with a first prize of a publishing deal for a 40,000-word novel including annual royalties.

If you’ve always fancied a career as a writer, crafting twists and turns, grabbing your reader by the hand and whisking through a lip-licking adventure, then this could be your big chance.

U-Star novels focus on personalised romance and erotica experiences, and we want to celebrate the romantic lives we enjoy as women in 2011. We want to unearth a writer who can write about erotic experiences in real, identifiable language and set steamy encounters in settings to which women everywhere can relate.

How do I enter?

You need to send your 1,000-word steamy short story to novelcomp@nbcuni.com in the body of the email, or as .doc or .rtf attachment. Make sure you tell us your name, and contact details.

Stories should be double-spaced and font size 12.

The story must be original and all your own words, so let your imagination run wild!

Need some inspiration?
To help get you in the mood for a steamy writing session, check out the iVillagers’ sexual fantasies gallery or share your ideas on the Let's Talk About Sex message board.

Terms and conditions:
Entrants must submit a 1,000 word short story. This entry will not necessarily become the 40,000 novel for which they receive the publishing deal.

Content can be ‘steamy’ but purely pornographic content will not be considered.

Entries must be original works that have not been submitted to any other competitions, publishers or agents.

U Star publishing deal is subject to writers contract being signed.

Entries must be submitted by email by October 31, 2011. The winner will be chosen by iVillage.co.uk and U-Star Novels.
